Kole's holiday - a 7 year old's perspective

My brothers, sisters and I had a great time staying in Niagara-on-the-Lake! Mommy and Daddy rented a big house from Niagara Holiday Rentals!

Once we checked into the house and unpacked we went exploring around town!

First thing we did was go on the horse and carriage ride. It was neat and I got to sit up front with the drive! The horse lady was so nice and knew a lot about Niagara-on-the-Lake! As we went along the streets we found so many parks for us to run and play!

As we walk along the street with all the store there was so much cool stuff! My favourite was the foot stool store! Most of their foot stools where shaped like wild animals! My favourite one was the hippo he was so cool! My Nana said she’d put the link to the store when she emailed this to the nice lady at Niagara Holiday Rentals!

Another cool store was the candy store of course! There was candy in there I had never seen before. Mommy said, “She remembers some of the candy from when she was little”. Man that’s old candy!

After an afternoon of exploring, we went back to the house! That was cool to sit around and play board games with my brothers and sisters! Even Daddy put down his phone and played with us!

Daddy got to bbq us some hamburgers and hot dog for supper then we watched a movie together.

Day 2 was even more exciting cause we went to Fort George! It was so neat walking through Fort George and seeing the soldiers and the ladies all dressed in old people clothes. I thought the stories were cool, Mommy said it was educational but I thought it was just fun! I liked the cannons the best!

Then off we went to go on the Whirlpool Jet Boats! I am big enough now! I was scared and excited as we loaded the boat and shout down the Niagara River to the whirlpool! Oh boy did we hit those rapids hard, I screamed and got soaked!! Mommy and Daddy just laughed like they were kids too!   The boat went so fast that there was water everywhere! Even though we got soak it was one of my favourite trips so far!

After we went back to our vacation house, we got dried off and changed! Then we went to the park for a picnic! We had so much fun skipping rocks on the water, running playing soccer and just hanging out with my family!

Day 3 we went on a day trip to Niagara Falls. There we walked along Niagara Falls which is so amazing and we went up to the top of the Skylon Tower. That was cool felt like we were on top of the world! Went to some neat museums and Ferris wheel ride on Clifton Hill! We went on the Horn Blower which took us to the bottom of the fall! Finally we got to see the falls at night it was so amazing but I fell asleep so I don’t remember how we got back to our vacation home!

Day 4 Off we went to the peach festival. They made everything out of peach! Jam, pie, ice cream even bbq sauce! Mommy said it was mostly home made but I never saw my Mommy make anything like this before! Guess that’s why we bought so much, so we can have it for when we get back home! YUMMY. We went to the Niagara Historical Museum that was educational, they didn’t have the kids program the day we went and I couldn’t run or laugh to loud. But then we got to go to Hoppy Ralph petting farm. It is so neat, we got to pet and feed different animals. Like horses, cows, donkeys and pigs! They even have a picnic area with a playground and lots of room to run!  Once we got back to our vacation house we all went swimming in the community pool.

We all can’t wait to come back to Niagara-on-the-Lake and stay in a vacation house again. We are bugging mommy and daddy to bring us in the winter! We know that Santa comes here every year and we want to go on the candle light stroll! They give little kids candles and we walk around after dark and sing ! I sing the best in my family so I really hope that we get to go!!

I wrote this with the help of my Nana because I am 7 years old and don’t write so good. But Mommy said that the nice lady at Niagara Holiday Rentals would post it to their blog so other kids to read.   My Nana lives in Niagara-on-the-Lake so she knows a lot!

Kole (who will be 8 years old the next time we come to stay at Niagara-on-the-Lake)!
