It’s that time of year again!!! The weather is chilly, the sky’s are grayish blue, and the hint of snow is in the air.
There are two traditions in my family that we enjoy at this time of year. The first is the Candle Light Stroll from the cenotaph in town on the Friday of the first weekend in December. The event is a fund raiser for a local family and a wonderful time to connect with the spirit of our little community. The local homes are decorated with lights, ornaments and animation! What a pretty time to meander with the carolers and listen to your favourite Christmas tunes. Then pop into a pub to a hot specialty coffee, mulled wine or a whisky to warm your toes!
The second Saturday of December is the Santa Clause Parade. A tradition since 1965, and this year we have over 100 entries. Including fire trucks, floats, troops, horses, dogs , local and international bands, - he Top Hats, Award winning Burlington Marching Band - and don’t forget the most important guy of all, Santa Clause and his reindeer!!
For children young and old, come see Santa Clause between 12 and 3 at the Just Christmas Store located on Queen Street close to the cenotaph! Click this link for a store coupon http://www.justchristmas.ca/coupons.php
