There are so many interesting events this summer as we continue the celeberations of the war of 1812! (www.niagaraonthelake.com) The Niagara-on-the-Lake Chamber of Commerce event's tab is the best source to keep up to date on what is going on in our town. But beleive it or not, there is a whole other world out there beyond our town's boundries!
“The Battle of Lake Erie” a new exhibition curated by Debra Antoncic, Associate Curator, opens on Saturday, March 23. This exhibition is a continuation of RiverBrink’s commemoration of the War of 1812-14.
Saturday, June 22, 2013, marks the 200th anniversary of Laura Secord's historic walk to warn a British outpost of an impending enemy attack. Cost: FREE to the public. But, nominal fee for some of the walk options. Contact: Caroline McCormick 905-468-0994 or friendsoflaurasecord@hotmail.com
Tall Ships event is part of a Great Lakes Tour across Ontario. Join us on Canada Day Weekend at the beautiful Port Dalhousie Harbour in St. Catharines, during the annual Lions Club Carnival! 1812 programming and activities will be taking place all weekend, and you'll have a chance to tour the historic ships. We will be announcing more details in the New Year, as part of the launch of our 2013 Signature Events.
