So you are excited about your road trip to Niagara-on-the-lake!  You have give great consideration on what to take and the route.  Have you thought about your car or motorcycles that will making the trip?

Things to think about.  Where is the registration and insurance card.  These are must have it you are every stopped by Law Enforcement or in an accident.  If you have an AAA or CAA membership, have that card with you also.

Preparing your car for a trip can be simple.  Gas, Oil, Air.  Three items that can leave your stranded.
Make sure you don't let your car get too low on gas if you don't know the route.  My rule of thumb is 1/8 a tank it too low.  You don't want to site see on the road side for two hours waiting for 5 gallons or 20 liters of gas.

Make sure your car is up to date on its servicing, and will not need an oil change of serviing while on your trip. Check the mileage and next service suggestions. Check your oil dip stick, and make sure the oil level is up to the full mark. If low you may want to add or have checked by a Mechanic to find out way it is low.  I would also check the window washing fluid and top it off by adding. Check you battery terminals, and make sure there is no carosion on the terminals. Have checked and cleaned if needed.

Gage all tires and the spare.  On most cars, the psi rating for tires is on the inside back frame of the driver's door.  Open the door and look down the opening towards the back of the front seat while standing outside the car. Add air if needed or decrease if over inflated.  This will also save you money on fuel.

I would also recommend giving a spare key to someone else in the car, and ask them to keep it on their person.  What is worst than locking a key in the car? It's looking two keys in the car.

I also recommend cleaning all windows and mirrors, inside and out.  I clean car rides better. That is my parent's talking.

While here in Niagara-on-the-Lake, remember that backing in to the drive of a Vacation Home is much safer than pulling in.  With all the people walking, riding bikes, and horse and carriages.  At least one will be going by when you are ready to pull out.  This is a busy town. If your battery goes down while at your Vacation House, Niagara Holiday Rentals keeps power supply in one of the vans, for helping jump starts for free.
If you need car service while in Niagara-on-the-lake, call Eric with Niagara Holiday Rentals, and he will offer suggestions on trusted professional that work on vehicles.
