Tasting Notes
Pumpkin Ales: Oast House Brewery Country Bumpkin and The Exchange Brewery Pumpkin AleOast Country Bumpkin (5.3% ABV)
SWIRL - What do we see? Light amber colour, clear
SNIFF - What do we smell? Pumpkin pie, baked pie crust, nutmeg. Take a whiff of this ale and you immediately think pumpkin pie. (Elsie Mae doesn’t like beer, but she likes this!)
SIP - What do we taste? Sweet and salty, honey, graham cracker, mouth coating (like whipped cream)
Exchange Pumpkin Ale (6.1 ABV)
SWIRL - What do we see? Light amber colour, hazy
SNIFF - What do we smell? Ginger, citrus, sour
SIP - What do we taste? Spice, orange peel, mouth feel - bitter, metallic SO......
We conclude that we all liked the Oast Country Bumpkin better for the cozy fall feeling it created. Which do you like better?
